Yestrday at #DaringVentures Cafe we talked abt the power of stories. Here is a tiny example, shared in t chat. 'Emily' = @LynburnNurture . She makes change just by sharing stories of her trauma-informed practice w/ children. @realdcameron @ShivieArgyle @grahamchatterl2 @lyns06
"The main point of therapy is to enter into a relationship where it safe to make the unconscious conscious." When we spoke yesterday at #DaringVentures Cafe about containment & tolerating feelings, we were in this same realm. @LynburnNurture @ShivieArgyle @lyns06

The truth is that human beings love denial. It protects us from feeling bad. Institutions that work with children employ staff who need to feel good about themselves & what they do. So part of tackling boarding school harm is getting adults to stop turning to denial.

Rituals help with transitions. So here's this one, for the last time. Every single day, since Covid, I began my Twitter day w/ #gratitude. You can find those over on BlueSky now. I close #gratitude here w/ a @sesamestreet song. Cause it makes me laugh.😀
