I work with organisations keen to know more about the science of human connection and the implications it holds for the whole of our society.
My presentations bring together two core themes: exploring scientific insights about human beings’ biological need for relationships and applying those insights to real life.
Recognising that early emotional experiences leave physiological imprints on our brains and bodies changes the way we understand ourselves and our professional responsibilities to children. We begin to see why connection offers the solution to all sorts of societal challenges, from educational attainment to prison rates to employment skills to economic growth.
What are events like?
All my training events are bespoke. I bring my specialist knowledge to fit the needs of your event. I work with groups both large and small, comprised of staff at all levels of responsibility, from front-line practitioners to those in managerial and leadership positions. In the past five years, approximately 40,000 people have attended my speaking engagements, across a wide range of sectors, including childcare, education, health, police, social work, foster carers, business, product manufacturers, musicians, politicians and parents.
The two words attendees most frequently used to describe their experience of an event are ‘inspiring’ and ‘thought-provoking’.
My goal is to help attendees feel curious, think radically, and dispense with blame. We cannot solve the societal challenges currently confronting us if we are timid in our thinking. Whatever vision you have for your event, my aim will be to nurture courage and compassion in participants.
